Going Green, the new money maker

I bought the hype. Go Green, Save the Planet, Save Money too!


The only Green I see in Going Green is profit...and not MY profit.

This summer I decided to try the new compact fluorescent light bulbs, or CFL. I put them in the BatCave, the dining room and my walk-in closet.

The walk-in closet died first. That light is NEVER turned on. Can we say Cha-ching?

The next one to die was in the BatCave. Okay, this may be because no one can remember to turn the lights off down there BUT, these things are supposed to last UP TO 6,000 hours. That is 250 DAYS turned on all 24 hours. It's the BatCave people, the lights are not on all the time. And did I mention that I bought these bulbs this summer?

I think I will go back to my El Cheapo light bulbs from Walmart. At least I can throw those away in the garbage. I also read that you are supposed to recycle the CFLs because of the mercury content.

This girl is saying NO to Green.
